多囊性卵巢症候群，簡稱為PCOS，是一個困擾著許多育齡婦女的疾病。它是荷爾蒙失衡的結果，而且常常在右邊的卵巢形成囊腫。
根據國外網站《remedydaily》的報導，這些囊腫不是有害的，但它們會導致激素失衡、月經週期過長、過量的毛髮生長，痤瘡和肥胖。重要的是，早期發現PCOS並早點治療，才能避免導致長期併發症，像是第2型糖尿病和心臟疾病。

是什麼原因導致多囊性卵巢症候群？
醫生無法確定導致多囊性卵巢症候群的原因，但有以下因素可能增加風險：
- 過量胰島素：
過多的胰島素可能增加雄激素（男性荷爾蒙），會影響卵巢，這可能影響卵巢正確排卵的能力。
- 輕度發炎：
研究表明，罹患PCOS的女性的卵巢也有輕度發炎，導致卵巢產生雄激素。
- 遺傳：
多囊性卵巢症候群有遺傳性，如果你的母親或姐妹罹患多囊性卵巢，你得到的機會比一般人高。

多囊性卵巢症候群的症狀
1.月經週期不規則
這是多囊性卵巢症候群最常見的症狀之一。包括月經週期超過35天或更長的時間，一年月經次數少於八次；月經來時，時間長或血量太多。
2.多餘的體毛
下巴、胸部、背部、腹部，甚至腳趾都有過多的毛髮生長。
3.喜怒無常
你可能會憂鬱或情緒起伏大，而且無法控制。
4.痤瘡
多囊性卵巢症候群會引起痤瘡，或讓皮膚變得很油。
5.胰島素水平的問題
過量胰島素會干擾卵巢正確排卵的能力。
治療方法
依據每個人的狀況，治療PCOS的方式也會不同。你的醫生可能會建議你改變生活方式，像是減肥，適量的飲食和運動。甚至會建議你先節育，調整好你的身體以降低雄激素的產生。
